Position Overview:The
Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting continuous process improvement across the Finance function. This individual will operate both independently and collaboratively, contributing to core accounting operations while also serving as a cross-functional resource within the team.
In This Position You Will:- Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
>- Prepare and file state and local tax filings, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other indirect taxes across multiple jurisdictions (currently 28 states)
>- Conduct technical accounting and tax research to ensure compliance with evolving state regulations and government requirements
>- Draft, review, and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure alignment with GAAP and applicable government regulations
>- Develop a strong understanding of adjacent finance functions (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Customer Cost Proposals) to:
- Recommend process improvements and efficiencies
>- Provide backup support during peak periods, absences, or business needs
>
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent application of financial controls and policies
>- Translate regulatory and technical requirements into clear, actionable internal processes
>
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred)
>- Strong foundation in GAAP and general accounting principles
>- Experience with multi-state tax compliance (sales/use tax, gross receipts, etc.)
>- Demonstrated ability to independently research complex accounting or tax issues and implement solutions
>- Experience developing or improving policies and procedures in a regulated environment
>- High level of attention to detail, organization, and accountability
>- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
>- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical guidance into practical application
>- Due to contractual requirements, only candidates who are U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, asylees, or refugees) will be considered for this position
Preferred Qualifications:- 3-7 years of public accounting experience
$75,000 - $100,000 a year
