  • Perform monthly end tasks as per established close calendar

  • Maintain and update financial reports and records
  • Interpret and analyze trends in forecasts and P&L reports
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for designated accounts
  • Manage Customer Minimum Guaranteed Volume Tracking schedules

Full Job Description
What We Are Looking For

The Senior Accountant will accurately record, report and analyze revenue and operating expenditures of MidAtantic area terminals while adhering to strict deadlines

What You Will Do

  • Perform all end of month tasks according to close calendar
  • Prepare month end journal entries for P&L and quarter end financial reports
  • Monthly variance compilation for the Mid-Atlantic Area
  • Review and verify annual budgets
  • Maintain financial reports and records
  • Interpret trends reflected in forecasts and P&L's
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations of specific amounts
  • Perform Contract Asset / Liability (CALM) reconciliations
  • Maintain Customer Minimum Guaranteed Volume Tracking (Shortfall) schedules
  • Maintain monthly schedules related to leases, rents, volumes, etc.
  • Review customer contracts and assure accuracy for rates and volume requirements
  • Quarterly Variance analysis and Flux reporting for dollars and volumes
  • All other duties as trained and directed

What You Need

Education:
  • B.S. in Accounting or related field or 5 - 7 years equivalent experience

Experience / specific knowledge:
  • 3-5 years' experience

Competencies, skills, and abilities:
  • Must be able to maintain good attention to detail, accuracy, completeness, and meet deadlines and commitments
  • Must have good computer skills. Working knowledge of Excel is required. Advanced knowledge of Excel is plus.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized and self-motivated
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team
  • Must be able to complete work in a prioritized and organized manner
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules and follow work rules
  • Must have strong analytical skills and logical thought processes with the ability to identify and resolve simple to complex accounting issues
  • Must be able to work and complete work with minimal direct supervision
  • Must be able to interact with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism

Physical demands:
  • Must be able to sit / stand for extended periods of time
  • Must have manual dexterity to Operate a computer keyboard.

Working conditions:
  • Must be able and willing to travel to other locations as required
  • Must be able to work with a team or independently and prioritize work schedule
  • Must be able to work extended and non-traditional hours as needed
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must maintain regular, dependable attendance
  • Successful candidate subject to pre-employment background check and drug screen
