Full Job Description
C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Accountant to help deliver accurate, relevant, and timely financial information to both our external investors and internal stakeholders. They will assist with the financial reporting process, perform financial analysis, and play a critical role in the monthly review of results. They will also be responsible for general ledger accounts and will take ownership of assigned departmental focus areas and/or projects. This role demands effective communication skills, a strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented approach to tackle roadblocks and ensure operational excellence and a commitment to best practice. The Senior Accountant continuously improves accounting operations while maintaining effective internal controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Analyze financial results and fluctuations, investigate variances, and ensure balances are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to enable an accurate and timely month end close
  • Assists with internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements
  • Proactively seeks additional responsibilities as existing workload is optimized and automated away
  • Partner with cross functional teams to support accounting matters, transactions, and reporting needs
  • Initiates, organizes, and leads team meetings, working sessions, and project-based check-ins
  • Execute financial reporting queries and analyses that support financial statements, disclosures, and accounting processes
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across accounting workflows
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and best-practice knowledge sharing to less experienced team members


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of prior audit experience in a public accounting firm


Preferred:
  • Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud and other cloud-based Oracle solutions
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting concepts
  • Experience with business process optimization or continuous improvement in an accounting environment
  • CPA, CMA, or relevant professional certification (active or inactive, from any jurisdiction)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives while taking accountability for work product
  • Ability to work within a team and collaborate well across departments and functions
  • Accountability to protect organizational value by keeping information confidential
  • Values a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Compensation Range
$77,200.00 - $122,300.00
