Job Summary:

Lockton Dunning Benefits is seeking a Senior Account Executive to serve as a trusted advisor to clients with complex employee benefits needs. In this role, you will lead client strategy, strengthen executive-level relationships, guide plan design and renewal discussions, and help ensure each client receives thoughtful, proactive, and high-quality service.

Working under the general guidance of the Team Lead, the Senior Account Executive partners closely with internal teams, Producers, carriers, vendors, and clients to align service delivery, financial performance, compliance support, and benefits strategy with each client's broader business goals.

Essential Responsibilities
• Serve as a strategic relationship lead for complex local and national client accounts, building strong executive-level partnerships and anticipating client needs.
• Lead proactive account management and service delivery efforts, ensuring client expectations, timelines, and agreed-upon service standards are met.
• Consult with clients on benefit plan strategy, design, funding arrangements, renewal planning, financial performance, and emerging market trends.
• Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to identify trends, evaluate plan performance, and present actionable recommendations to clients.
• Lead or support client meetings, providing thoughtful guidance on strategy, financial performance, vendor issues, action items, and benefit plan priorities.
• Partner with Producers in prospect meetings by serving as a technical subject matter expert and supporting new business opportunities.
• Manage the Request for Proposal process in partnership with the Team Lead, including vendor coordination, response analysis, recommendation development, and client presentation materials.
• Oversee renewal strategy by asking effective discovery questions, partnering with key stakeholders, and developing benefit plan solutions aligned with client goals.
• Coordinate communications strategy, collateral materials, vendor implementation activities, and open enrollment meetings.
• Maintain strong knowledge of carrier, vendor, and third-party administrator products and services to recommend appropriate solutions for clients.
• Partner with internal legal counsel and subject matter experts to help educate and advise clients on compliance topics, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500 filings, and health care reform.
• Support completion of client administrative deliverables, including Form 5500 filings, policy checking and delivery, summary plan descriptions, and related documentation.
• Monitor significant or complex claim-related matters and assist with negotiation and resolution efforts on behalf of clients.
• Identify client service challenges and implement process improvements that enhance the overall client experience.
• Mentor and train team members, helping build knowledge, confidence, and consistent delivery of high-quality client support.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of six years of insurance industry experience, with demonstrated expertise in employee welfare benefits.
• Active insurance license, or ability to obtain required licensing.
• Strong working knowledge of welfare benefits across multiple product lines, including medical, dental, life, AD&D, disability, and ancillary products.
• Understanding of risk, insurance principles, funding options, medical underwriting calculations, and financial arrangements such as fully insured, self-funded, minimum premium, and administrative services only arrangements.
• Proven ability to build trusted client relationships, deliver excellent service, and communicate recommendations clearly to executive stakeholders.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work with large spreadsheets, census files, disruption analysis, geo-access data, benchmarking information, and related analytical tools.
• Excellent organizational, communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
