Full Job Description
Cohesity's Security portfolio turns the backup estate into an active line of cyber defense: FortKnox (immutable, air-gapped cyber vaulting), Threat Defense (AI-powered threat detection), Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), powered by Cyera, Data Classification, and Identity Resilience, built with Semperis. This is a full portfolio, not a single product, and it's the reason the role exists.

Frontier models can now execute multistage attacks end to end, collapsing the window defenders have between initial access and encryption and narrowing what "protected" means to a short, defensible list: true immutability, a vault outside the production identity domain, genuine air-gap, and a tested recovery path. That's an architecture problem, and it's the one you're hired to solve on these founding seats on a new Security specialist team.

Paired one-to-one with a Sr. Security Sales Specialist, you own the technical win - architecture, demos, POCs, and the credibility to hold a technical room - while the Sales Specialist owns the commercial relationship and the number. You bring enough depth to design and defend a ransomware-recovery, immutability, or identity-resilience architecture under technical scrutiny, and enough range to translate it into a business case an executive buys. This is a pre-sales, solution-architecture, and consultative role, not a hands-on production-engineering seat.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
  • Own the technical win in every Security deal you support - discovery, solution design, demos, and proof of value - partnered with the Security Sales Specialist who owns the commercial close.
  • Be the security architecture SME in the room on ransomware-recovery design, immutable/air-gapped vaulting, identity resilience, and DSPM - credible with a CISO, VP of Security, or their architects.
  • Architect reference architectures and lead technical workshops, POCs, and pilots that validate ransomware-recovery and identity-resilience use cases across regulated industries.
  • Build executive-quality technical narratives - solution briefs, architecture diagrams, and business cases specific to the account.
  • Know your accounts' technology footprint, and work the security partner ecosystem on joint solutions and technical co-sell.
  • Feed the field back into the roadmap, and support disciplined deal hygiene - accurate technical qualification and honest POC exit criteria.

WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • A minimum of 5 years of pre-sales engineering and architecture experience in security.
  • Hands-on experience designing or deploying ransomware-recovery architectures, immutable/air-gapped backup solutions, or identity-resilience (AD/Entra ID recovery) systems, with a strong infrastructure background (backup/recovery, storage, hybrid-cloud).
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory / Entra ID architecture and core security concepts - ransomware kill chains, immutability, air-gapping, zero trust - plus scripting/API proficiency (Python, PowerShell) for demos and POCs.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to simplify complex concepts for technical and executive audiences - and comfort operating in a co-sell / specialist model.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
  • Professional English language proficiency for customer and internal communication.
  • The ability to travel as required

WE ARE EXTRA EXCITED IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • Prior specialist or overlay SE/SA experience at a data infrastructure, backup, or cybersecurity vendor, including validating ransomware-recovery or identity-resilience use cases in regulated industries.
  • Existing technical relationships or direct competitive experience in the backup, cyber resilience, or data security markets - matched to your territory.

HOW YOU WILL BE MEASURED:

  • Technical win rate on the deals you support, and influenced revenue and pipeline progression across your territory.
  • Quality and reuse of the assets you produce, and the services / multi-phase attach they help generate.
  • Field collaboration with your paired Security Sales Specialist, and partner co-sell results.
  • Technical qualification quality and POC / forecast reliability.
