Security Program Manager, U.S. Amazon Dedicated Cloud Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Physical Security is seeking a highly talented and motivated Security Program Manager to join our team. AWS is the leading cloud provider, providing virtualized infrastructure, storage, networking, messaging, and many other services to customers all over the world to include the international public sector community. The role is responsible for overseeing physical security design and the installation of security features and systems including access control, intrusion detection, camera surveillance, passive and active barriers, and other security features and capabilities consistent with AWS security standards and public sector contract requirements. This role will perform security program management in support of new data centers, a logistics warehouse, data center expansions, and special security programs and projects. You will be an individual contributor and will work directly with the Cluster Security Managers (CSMs), the Data Center Engineering Operations Team, and other customers, both internal and external, to integrate business and operations requirements into long-term physical security design and implementation. You will work with limited guidance to support the design and deployment of physical security packages and security program enhancements for AWS data centers and supporting facilities. Additionally, you will work across multiple teams and serve as the subject matter expert to author security design, security installation and sustainment contracts, and other security documents for submittal to the public sector customer. You will lead projects and develop short-term solutions in the physical security program. You may influence and manage vendor contracts to ensure industry-leading systems are deployed and sustained. The ideal candidate for the role will be willing and able to work autonomously with minimal guidance or supervision, to build relationships across peer teams, stakeholders, and partner organizations, at all levels, and to be able to influence cooperation without authority in order to achieve program and project progress and completion. You will have an in-depth knowledge of electronic security and physical security system capabilities and leverage that expertise to make the right decisions for physical security projects, site sustainment, and deliver results on time and on budget. You are able to solve ambiguous problems, proactively identify existing or imminent security vulnerabilities, and apply mitigation strategies to reduce overall risk. You may be asked to use your knowledge to assess processes, program plans, and operations requirements to find security solutions or enhancements for routine and unique security requirements. Additionally, the candidate will work across multiple teams within an Amazon Security organization to influence external customers, system owners, and business leaders. The candidate will effectively communicate with stakeholder audiences in a single domain and actively participate in meetings both internally and with the customer to drive business and technical discussions and decisions. This candidate will support their Manager in AWS external engagements with the customer. The role is based in the Northern Virginia area and will support multiple campuses and site types in the DCA cluster. Key job responsibilities Physical Security Design & Installation • Participate in physical security design for new data centers, data center expansions, logistics facilities, and special projects • Manage the installation of security features and systems including access control, intrusion detection, camera surveillance, passive and active barriers, and other capabilities consistent with AWS security standards and government requirements • Lead physical security team acceptance, sign-off, and operational readiness validation for high-security facilities in conjunction with other AWS teams • Apply knowledge of ICD 705 (Fixed Facility SCIF Construction), ICD Chapter 7 (Intrusion Detection), Chapter 8 (Access Control), Chapter 11 (Telecommunications Systems), and UL 2050 standards to security design and installation Project & Budget Management • Provide physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget tracking, change orders, and close-out documentation • Effectively and accurately manage multi-million dollar security project budgets - own and track the finance and budgeting process for assigned security programs and projects • Report performance metrics including vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, and post-installation defect rates • Manage purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, and financial accruals for security projects Vendor & Contract Management • Manage vendor on-boarding, RFP/RFQ bidding, contracting, contract execution, QA/QC, and support processes for capital projects, preventative maintenance, and break/fix contracts • Influence and manage vendor contracts to ensure industry-leading systems are deployed and sustained • Monitor vendor performance against contract terms and delivery timelines; escalate underperformance through established channels • Coordinate with Procurement on new contract vehicles, renewals, and amendments • Manage preventative maintenance and break/fix contract execution to ensure security systems remain operational and compliant with accreditation standards Security Program Support & Analysis • Support Cluster Security Managers by providing physical security analysis and recommending program enhancements to maximize security at assigned locations • Collaborate across teams to drive global, regional, and local security initiatives • Author security design documents, security installation and sustainment contracts, and other security documents for submittal to government customers • Provide physical security subject matter expertise on system capabilities, integration options, and compliance requirements Stakeholder Engagement • Work directly with Cluster Security Managers, Data Center Engineering Operations, and government customers to integrate security requirements into facility design and operations • Serve as the physical security subject matter expert in cross-functional planning forums for new construction and facility expansion projects • Coordinate with government customer security representatives on physical security design approvals and accreditation requirements • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders regarding physical security standards and system designs BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of program or project management experience, or a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience - 5+ years working with physical security design and/or implementation of electronic security systems such as access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV surveillance systems - Knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, Procore, BIM modeling tools, Bluebeam, AI assistants, and software for technical document writing such as Visio, Word, or PowerPoint - 2+ years working in a regulated industry (government, banking, healthcare) where facility physical security requirements were audited and inspected - Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of ICD, NISPOM, NIST, and UL 2050 standards related to classified facility security, accreditation, and security system compliance.
