About the Role: As a Security Engineer, Hardware Security you will be a key member of the Product Security Team. You will be the primary Security partner for Engineering and Hardware teams, focusing on design reviews, threat modeling, and building scalable "secure-by-default" components (libraries, services, frameworks, components) that empower hardware engineers to ship the product securely. You will work across teams, influencing security and driving the hardware security initiative.
This is a highly strategic and technical role for architects who want to scale security through programs, influence, and engineering excellence, focusing on design, automation, and enablement.
What You'll Do: - Build the hardware and embedded security baseline and process across Motive devices, including boot chain, firmware, FOTA, and manufacturing
- Drive relationships with hardware engineering team to ensure findings are prioritized, validated and remediated
- Identify and assess hardware security risks across the product lifecycle including designing, manufacturing, deployment, updating, and decommissioning
- Lead hardware security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and security testing for product systems
- Define and review security requirements for hardware platforms, embedded systems, firmware interfaces, boot processes, debug capabilities, and device lifecycle controls in cloud-connected environments.
- Drive end to end security for device hardware across IoT andcloud security infrastructure
What We're Looking For: - 5+ years years of experience in Hardware Security, including creating security by design patterns into new devices and platforms
- 5+ years of experience in working with product teams creating security designs and providing security requirements
- 5+ years of hands on development experience in the programming languages like python and C/C++
- Strong understanding of hardware root of trust, secure boot, attestation, key protection, device identity, and secure provisioning concepts.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, reviewing, and validating security controls for hardware and low-level system architectures.
- Experience in cloud security, runtime security, supply chain security, and application security best practices

The compensation range for this position will depend on where you reside. For this role, the compensation range is:

$146,000-$195,000 CAD
