Full Job Description
VetsEZ is currently looking for a Scrum Master for a 100% remote position supporting a large federal government project. This role will lead Agile practices across multiple delivery teams, support backlog management and prioritization efforts, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and drive continuous process improvement initiatives. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners, engineers, stakeholders, and government personnel in a collaborative Agile environment utilizing tools such as Jira and GitHub.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including PI Planning, retrospectives, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and related Scrum activities.
  • Remove blockers and impediments impacting team productivity and delivery timelines.
  • Build collaborative relationships that promote transparency, accountability, and innovation across cross-functional Agile teams.
  • Promote Agile best practices and serve as a resource for Agile processes, team coordination, and delivery execution.
  • Advise government stakeholders on opportunities for process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Support backlog flow, work prioritization, and visibility into team deliverables and commitments.
  • Track team progress, dependencies, risks, and impediments while escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Partner with Product Owners, engineering teams, and stakeholders to maintain alignment on project goals and delivery expectations.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination across delivery teams, leadership, and partner organizations.
  • Support documentation efforts, meeting outputs, status tracking, and readiness activities for program reviews and events.
  • Contribute to various projects and initiatives as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a collaborative mindset.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or Agile lead supporting technical delivery teams.
  • Experience supporting large-scale software development, system integration, or data management projects.
  • Strong expertise in Agile methodologies and the SAFe framework.
  • Experience leading Agile development teams supporting automated deployments, scaling, and operational management.
  • Experience facilitating meetings, briefings, and presentations with technical teams and senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and GitHub.
  • Ability to track team metrics, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong technical documentation and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration abilities within cross-functional environments.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt and manage priorities within fast-paced delivery environments.
Additional Qualifications
  • SAFe Certified Scrum Master (SSM) or comparable Agile certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) programs or other federal government environments is preferred.
  • Technical background or experience supporting engineering-led Agile teams is a plus.
  • Experience with healthcare technology environments is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government clearance.
