Position Title: Satellite Systems Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA

Position Overview

OMNI is seeking an experienced Satellite Systems Engineer to provide technical oversight and Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) support for spacecraft development, integration, testing, and mission execution activities. The selected candidate will work closely with Government leadership, mission partners, and contractor teams to support the successful delivery of national security space capabilities throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical oversight and independent assessments of satellite and space system development activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, program management reviews, and milestone events.
  • Evaluate technical, cost, schedule, and performance risks and provide recommendations to Government leadership.
  • Support system integration, test, verification, validation, and mission readiness activities.
  • Coordinate with Government, contractor, and engineering teams to ensure mission objectives and program requirements are achieved.
  • Review system requirements, architectures, interface documentation, and technical baselines for completeness and compliance.
  • Support systems engineering activities across the acquisition lifecycle, from concept development through operations.
  • Develop technical briefings, status reports, and decision-support materials for senior Government stakeholders.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting satellite, spacecraft, or space systems programs.
  • Experience applying systems engineering principles throughout the system development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of requirements development, requirements management, and technical baseline management.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, system integration, testing, and mission operations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required; Polygraph preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Government Program Offices or SETA organizations.
  • Familiarity with DoD or Intelligence Community acquisition processes.
  • Experience supporting satellite integration and test campaigns, launch readiness activities, or mission operations.
  • Knowledge of requirements management tools such as DOORS or similar systems engineering tools.
