SAP Manager - Order to Cash & Transportation Management

AMAT

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Job ID: 527318

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Manager to own the Order to Cash (O2C) and Transportation Management (TM) process landscape. The ideal candidate is a strong business partner who can align technology initiatives with strategic business objectives and drive digital transformation, backed by deep hands-on expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), SAP pricing configuration, and customer payment portals. This person has a proven track record delivering complex, hands-on integrations between SAP, Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, Salesforce, and eCommerce platforms that support scalable, customer-centric operations.

This is a business-facing role: the successful candidate will spend significant time directly with Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Service leaders, understanding how they work today and co-designing how they should work tomorrow. As process owner, this person will lead discovery and design workshops, map current- and future-state processes, and drive continuous improvement across the order-to-cash and transportation value chain. The role also leads a team of SAP O2C and TM functional resources, driving system enhancements and hands-on integration delivery, and ensuring an efficient, well-integrated, and continuously improving order-to-cash and transportation process across the organization.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Business Process Design & Improvement
  • Act as the primary business-facing process owner for O2C and TM - spending regular, recurring time with business leads in Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Service.
  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand gaps and pain points, translate business needs into functional requirements, and design scalable, efficient O2C and TM processes.
  • Define and track KPIs and process performance metrics jointly with business owners, and report progress back to them on a regular cadence.
  • Establish and run a standing business process governance forum (e.g., monthly O2C and TM process review) to surface emerging issues, prioritize backlog items, and keep process design decisions transparent and business-led.

Driving Design Workshops & Business Engagement
  • Own end-to-end workshop planning and delivery: define objectives, identify the right stakeholders, build the agenda, and drive the session to concrete, documented decisions and next steps.
  • Plan and facilitate requirements-gathering and process design workshops with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Service - driving discussions toward decisions rather than open-ended brainstorming.
  • Run fit-gap and solution design sessions with business and technical teams, presenting options, trade-offs, and recommendations, and driving alignment on process decisions and configuration approaches.
  • Use visual facilitation techniques (process maps, whiteboarding, journey maps) in live sessions to help business stakeholders see and agree on the proposed design in real time.
  • Manage constructive conflict in workshops - surfacing and resolving competing priorities between functions (e.g., Sales, Finance, Logistics, and Customer Service) to reach a workable, business-endorsed outcome.

Order to Cash (O2C)
  • Own the end-to-end SAP O2C process, including sales order management, pricing, credit management, billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
  • Provide strong hands-on functional expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), including order types, delivery processing, and shipping.
  • Design, configure, and maintain SAP pricing procedures, condition types, and pricing determination logic to support accurate, consistent pricing across channels.
  • Partner with Finance and Sales Operations to streamline order management, reduce billing errors, and improve days sales outstanding (DSO).

Transformation Management (TM)
  • Own the SAP Transportation Management process, including freight planning, carrier selection, freight costing, and shipment execution.
  • Partner with Logistics and Supply Chain teams to optimize transportation processes and ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Ensure accurate integration between TM, O2C, and SD processes so that order, delivery, and freight data remain consistent end-to-end.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce freight costs and improve on-time delivery performance.

Customer Payment Portal
  • Apply working knowledge of customer-facing payment portals integrated with SAP to support functional design and issue resolution.
  • Ensure seamless synchronization between portal transactions (payments, invoices, statements, disputes) and SAP financial records.
  • Drive enhancements to improve customer self-service capabilities (invoice viewing, online payments, payment history).

Systems Integration - POS, Salesforce & eCommerce
  • Own hands-on design, configuration, and support of integrations between SAP and Point of Sale (POS) systems, ensuring accurate order, inventory, and transaction data flow.
  • Oversee the SAP-Salesforce integration, ensuring accurate flow of accounts, opportunities, quotes, and orders into SAP for fulfillment and billing.
  • Support integration between SAP and eCommerce platforms to ensure accurate transactions (payments, invoices, statements).
  • Troubleshoot integration issues (middleware, APIs, IDocs, or point-to-point interfaces) and coordinate resolution with technical teams and vendors.

Team & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP functional analysts/consultants supporting O2C and TM.
  • Act as primary liaison between business stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service) and technical teams.
  • Manage vendor and implementation partner relationships for O2C and TM-related projects and integrations.
  • Prepare and present status updates, roadmaps, and risk assessments to senior leadership.

Project & Change Management
  • Lead SAP O2C and TM enhancement projects, upgrades, and rollouts, including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, and deployment.Ensure proper documentation of business processes, configuration, and support procedures.
  • Drive adherence to change management, testing, and release governance standards.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance/internal controls across O2C and TM processes.
