Full Job Description
Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Salesforce Technical Architect with deep expertise in data migration, ETL, and Salesforce data architecture. The ideal candidate will be located near a Perficient office.

The Salesforce Technical Data Architect leads end-to-end data migration and integration initiatives across Salesforce and connected enterprise systems. This role designs and executes data migration strategies, develops ETL processes and automation scripts, performs data profiling and transformation, and ensures data quality, integrity, security, and governance throughout the migration lifecycle. The architect partners closely with Salesforce, integration, and business teams to deliver seamless data transitions, resolve complex data challenges, and support scalable, data-driven solutions using modern automation and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, execute, and manage end-to-end data migration projects, including extraction, transformation, loading, and validation.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL and SOQL queries for data validation, migration, and reconciliation.
  • Build, configure, and run ETL jobs to move and transform data across Salesforce, ERP, and external databases.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Apex, Python, Shell, PowerShell, or similar) for data processing, cleansing, and quality checks.
  • Perform data profiling, mapping, and transformation to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues including data mismatches, performance bottlenecks, and integrity errors.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce, integration, and business teams to coordinate cutovers and validate migrated data.
  • Document migration procedures, scripts, mappings, and reconciliation steps for repeatability and compliance.
  • Ensure all migrations follow best practices for data quality, security, and governance.
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and support data-informed delivery.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct experience in data migration, ETL, or database engineering roles
  • Strong technical expertise in relational database architecture (Salesforce, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL including query optimization, joins, and stored procedures
  • Practical experience with Salesforce SOQL, Apex, and the Salesforce data model
  • Proven track record in data migration projects including reconciliation and cutover planning
  • Hands-on scripting skills in Python, Shell, PowerShell, or similar
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, APIs, and bulk data processing
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver under tight deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

Who We're Looking For:

Technical depth gets you in the door. Beyond that, we're hiring for four qualities together, not any one in isolation: humble, hungry, and smart.

Humble -- a team player first. You teach as readily as you learn, and you don't need to be the smartest person in the room to add value.

Hungry -- genuinely curious and self-driven. You take on a new certification or course because you enjoy it, not because it's assigned, and you dig into unfamiliar problems until you've figured them out.

Smart -- people-smart. You read a room, enjoy talking with customers, and can hold your own in front of a client audience.

Excited about AI -- you're already using AI tools to work faster and deliver better outcomes, and you want to keep pushing on that. This is where our SF+ practice is headed, so it's a practical, non-negotiable skill, not a nice-to-have.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $135,000 to $165,000. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any variable compensation programs.
