The Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable solutions on the Salesforce platform that powers the Fusion Framework System (Fusion), Scotiabank's enterprise operational resilience platform. The role enables critical resilience capabilities by delivering custom applications, workflow automation, system integrations, and data solutions that support business continuity, operational resilience, third-party risk management, regulatory compliance, and enterprise governance. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the Salesforce Developer ensures Fusion remains a secure, reliable, and scalable system of record that supports the Bank's resilience objectives while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Salesforce Application Development
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable Salesforce solutions that enhance the Fusion Framework System and support operational resilience processes.
  • Develop custom applications using Apex, Lightning Components, Flows, and other Salesforce platform capabilities.

Platform Enhancement & Continuous Improvement
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions that improve platform functionality, usability, automation, and end-user experience.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, and increase operational efficiency through automation and platform enhancements.


Enterprise Integration Delivery
  • Design, build, and maintain integrations between Fusion and enterprise systems using APIs, middleware, and integration frameworks.
  • Support the exchange of data across resilience, risk, vendor management, HR, facilities, and other enterprise platforms. (Fusion-specific accountability based on the integration focus described in the role.)


Data Management & Architecture
  • Ensure the integrity, quality, consistency, and availability of data across Salesforce and integrated systems.
  • Support data architecture, data modeling, and governance standards to maintain Fusion as a trusted system of record.


Operations Resilience Platform Support
  • Support and enhance the Fusion Framework System, the Bank's operational resilience platform, ensuring solutions align with business continuity, operational resilience, third-party risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with resilience practitioners, business stakeholders, and technology partners to deliver platform capabilities that support enterprise resilience objectives.


Technical Leadership & Delivery Excellence
  • Participate in solution design reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, and release management activities to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Apply development standards, security requirements, and industry best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.


Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Maintain technical documentation and support platform governance processes, standards, and controls.
  • Ensure solutions support regulatory, audit, security, and operational risk requirements applicable to the Fusion platform.


Relationship Management & Delivery:
  • Build effective relationships across business stakeholders, technology partners, vendors, program/project managers, and senior leaders to support delivery of short- and long-term initiatives.
  • Partner with business analysts, product owners, platform administrators, architects, and technology teams to define requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture, promote inclusive collaboration, and contribute to a high-performance work environment.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Salesforce Flow, SOQL/SOSL, triggers, custom objects, validation rules, and platform configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs, integration frameworks, middleware, ETL patterns, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts, preferably Java or similar languages.
  • Understanding of Salesforce security, sharing models, identity management, and access control patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Salesforce DevOps tools such as Salesforce DX, VS Code, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Copado, Gearset, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.


Preferred:
  • Experience with Fusion Risk Management application or similar enterprise resilience, business continuity, crisis management, or risk management applications.
  • Bilingual capability preferred, with English and Spanish considered an asset.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification; Platform Developer II, Application Architect, or System Architect is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Operational Resilience, Business Continuity Management, Third Party Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, GRC, or regulatory platforms.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with systems such as ServiceNow, Coupa/iCertis, HR platforms, real estate systems, security platforms, data warehouses, or third-party risk tools.
  • Familiarity with OSFI E-21, OSFI B-10, operational resilience, business continuity, and third-party risk expectations.
  • Experience with MuleSoft, Informatica, Salesforce Connect, External Objects, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, CRM Analytics, Tableau, Data Cloud, Einstein, Agentforce, or Prompt Builder.
