Commerce is looking for a Salesforce Developer to join our Go To Market (GTM) Business Applications team. You'll help build, maintain, and improve the systems that power our sales, marketing, and customer success motions — at a company that is actively investing in modernizing its Salesforce org. As part of our development group, you'll collaborate closely with architects, admins, business analysts, and product engineers to deliver solutions that scale with the business.
BigCommerce, part of the Commerce brand family, helps merchants increase sales at every stage of their growth. From small startups to mid-market businesses and large enterprises, we provide the leading e-commerce platform. Our customers can then concentrate on what's most important: growing their businesses. We enable our customers to build, innovate, and grow, collectively reshaping the e-commerce industry.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and document Salesforce solutions using a declarative-first approach, escalating to custom development where configuration reaches its limits.
Write clean, testable Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and API integrations — with attention to quality, performance, and security.
Participate in code reviews and help establish and maintain development standards for the team.
Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and adjacent systems, including marketing automation platforms and external APIs.
Contribute to Commerce's Salesforce roadmap by surfacing technical options, tradeoffs, and implementation paths to architects and business stakeholders.
Support a healthy engineering culture — advocate for modern practices, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement.
Who You Are
3+ years of professional Salesforce development experience.
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I required; Administrator certification a plus.
Proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and REST/SOAP APIs.
Solid understanding of Sales Cloud and Service Cloud — how data models work, where automation fits, and how to avoid common pitfalls.
Comfortable with Git-based source control, Salesforce DX (SFDX), and working in a CI/CD-enabled environment, or eager to learn.
Strong troubleshooting instincts — you dig into logs, debug systematically, and communicate findings clearly.
Collaborative and communicative — you work well with technical and non-technical stakeholders and can translate business needs into technical requirements.
Attentive to data governance considerations — you understand the difference between data that belongs in Salesforce and data that doesn't.
Nice to Have
Experience with Marketo-Salesforce integration (a meaningful plus given our stack).
Familiarity with CPQ, Zuora, or subscription billing workflows.
Experience with Experience Cloud (formerly Communities) or Knowledge.
CTI platform experience (Five9, Genesys, or similar).
Exposure to Salesforce Industries or Revenue Cloud.
Understanding of ALM processes and code promotion in a multi-sandbox environment.
Work Where You Thrive
This is a hybrid role. For candidates based in the Austin, TX metro area, the position follows a hybrid work model with three days per week in the office, balancing focused individual work with meaningful in-person collaboration.
