Position Summary

What will the work look like for me?

We are currently seeking a Sales Representative.

What are your responsibilities?

  • You will develop and successfully execute a plan for selling products and services at an acceptable order volume and profit margin in your designated territory.
    • You will sell into theOn-Premise, High School Park & Recreation and Out-of-Home markets which includes calling on direct end-customers, resellers, dealers, audio visual companies, K-12 schools, Junior colleges, architects, consultants, contractors, and sign designers.
    • You willbe responsible forpromoting Daktronics products/services, during in-person meetings, video conferencing, and product demonstrations.
    • You will generate orders through financing options such as Daktronics Sports Marketing and leasing partners.
    • You will create business through consultative selling bydemonstratingthe need for Daktronics product offerings.
    • You willassist inhaving Daktronics products qualified or specified in proposal requests, purchasingcooperatives, or consultant recommendations. You willleverageorders through purchasing co-ops, as applicable.
    • You will grow the active sales opportunities through referrals, lead generation andqualification, product replacement opportunities, proactive prospecting, and sustainable relationships. You will promptly follow up on marketingcampaignsor trade show leads. These activities will be documentedin a timely mannerusing Salesforce CRM.
  • You will be the Daktronics expert consultant with anin-depthunderstanding of Daktronics products capabilities, features, functions, and operations to best meet the customer27s vision. Product knowledge will include video systems, standard scoring equipment, audio equipment, electronic message centers, LCD displays, directviewLED displays, and frontendcontrol equipment for all product offerings. To become the Daktronics expert, you will activelyparticipatein all product and salestrainings.
  • You will work effectively as a team member. Work with limited daily supervision.
  • Become knowledgeable and follow Daktronics27 policies, processes, and procedures.

Where is this opportunity located?

You will coverwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington.Preferred locations include metro areas ofPortland, OR or Vancouver, WA.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is$72,000to $100,000annually based onPortland, OR or Vancouver, WAlocations.This position is eligible forsalesbonus consideration. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for the Sales Representative position, we require the following:

  • Bachelor27s degree. Preferred majors include sales, marketing, entrepreneurial studies, economics, communications, or advertising.
  • Prefer two (2)yearsdirect selling experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn technicalproductquickly.
  • Communication skills including good verbal and written skills, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services and negotiate contracts favorable to Daktronics.
  • Experience selling product values and features. Mustdemonstrateabilityto successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier.
  • Understandbasicsof proposal and sales agreement language to negotiate/finalizeagreements in conjunction with the Daktronics Legal Group.
  • Motivated and ateam-player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. Goal-oriented with proven leadership capability.
  • Computer skills to bestutilizeSalesforce, Microsoft Team meetings, web navigation, and internal electronic systems.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • Workschedulemay include evenings and weekends for presentations, trade shows,and meetings.
  • The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground andcomply withthe Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin andmaintainemployment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conductedin accordance withapplicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws. Overnight travelis about 15% of time withrangeof2-6days per trip, which may include two weekends per year.Most of the travelareday trips.
  • Ability to work from a home office when not traveling.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
