The What:
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategy to increase revenue and member growth of Mesa Rim Austin. In collaboration with the Executive Team and the local Austin leadership team, the Sales Manager drives new member acquisition, deepens relationships with existing members, and builds the community partnerships that turn a gym into a thriving community.
Revenue Generation and Sales Strategy
- Own and drive Austin revenue performance across new member sales, member retention, and ancillary revenue streams
- Develop and execute trackable sales strategies that target each stage of the customer lifecycle, from first visit through long-term membership commitment
- Design and run outreach campaigns to warm leads generated through digital channels, advertising, partnerships, events, and referrals
- Set, track, and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets. Reporting progress clearly to leadership
- Identify and act on revenue opportunities within the existing member base, including program add-ons, membership value enhancements, and additional services that deepen the member experience
- Plan and execute sales events community activations designed to drive trial and conversion
- Execute segment-specific promotional offers within established eligibility and discount frameworks
- Collaborate with leadership on campaign messaging, channel alignment, and performance measurement
- Collaborate with Austin leadership to continually improve the sales process and operations that impact the customer experience
Corporate Sales & Partnerships
- Develop and manage a corporate membership sales program targeting Austin employers, particularly in tech, healthcare, and professional services
- Build a pipeline of corporate accounts through direct outreach, networking, and community presence
- Negotiate and close group membership agreements, employee wellness packages, and corporate event bookings
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, fitness-adjacent brands, and event promoters to drive member acquisition and brand awareness
- Represent Mesa Rim at local business events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
- Build partnership with local schools and organizations for group events and recurring programming
- Build partnerships with non-profit organization to increase access to climbing experiences for demographics who are not well represented in the gym currently
Lifecycle Marketing & Retention
- Partner with marketing to develop and execute segment-specific lifecycle programs - welcome, onboarding, engagement, renewal, and win-back, using Mesa Rim's CRM software (Redpoint) infrastructure and reporting tools
- Proactively work the member pipeline, identifying at-risk members and re-engaging lapsed guests before they churn
- Provide on-the-ground input that sharpens lifecycle messaging, promotional timing, and campaign targeting
- Monitor check-in behavior, membership changes, and engagement signals in Redpoint to prioritize outreach and intervention
Reporting & Cross-Location Insight
- Track and report monthly on revenue, pipeline activity, conversion rates, and retention metrics via Redpoint dashboards
- Document effective sales plays, messaging, and partnership models so insights can inform CA and NV locations over time
- Participate in cross-location initiatives and contribute Austin market perspective to company-wide strategy

- Must be at least 18 years of age

- Must have a genuine passion for fitness, climbing, or the outdoor community. You don't have to be a climber, but you have to care about what we're building
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
- Must have a drive to grow professionally
- Must have sales or community-facing growth experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals
- Must demonstrate experience in relationship-driven sales, building trust, following up with intention, and bringing people along
- Must have experience with B2B or corporate outreach and be comfortable prospecting employers and navigating group deals
- Must have ability to seek and accept, as well as give, critical feedback in a professional manner
- Must be data-literate: able to read a pipeline report, spot trends, and adjust strategy based on what the numbers say
- Comfort working with a CRM or member management platform (Redpoint experience a plus)
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals
- Must be self-motivated and effective working autonomously
- Must be based in Austin, TX and connected to or eager to connect into the local business community
Nice-to-Haves:
- Background in fitness, outdoor sports, climbing, or wellness industries
- Experience building or managing a corporate wellness or group sales program
- Familiarity with lifecycle marketing concepts( segmentation, email automation, retention programs)
- Existing Austin business network or relationships with local employers and organizations
- Experience in high hospitality environments

CompensationThis role includes a base salary plus a performance-based commission structure tied directly to member growth.
On-target earnings (OTE) for a performer who hits the annual member growth goal are estimated at $125,000, inclusive of base salary.
