Full Job Description
Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, the Sales Manager will play an important role in achieving the hotel's overall revenue goals while representing the property and Hyatt brand with professionalism and enthusiasm. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated hospitality sales professional with strong knowledge of the San Francisco market, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to generate new business and convert opportunities into revenue.

Position and Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an effective sales plan focused on achieving or exceeding assigned revenue goals.
  • Identify, prospect, and solicit new business opportunities within assigned market segments.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts while continuously identifying opportunities for increased production.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, client visits, networking events, presentations, and site inspections.
  • Develop relationships with corporate accounts, meeting planners, travel professionals, tour operators, leisure partners, and other strategic accounts.
  • Generate leads through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and market research.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to RFPs, inquiries, and business opportunities.
  • Negotiate rates, packages, and contracts within established hotel guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Management team to maximize rate, occupancy, and overall profitability.
  • Monitor production of assigned accounts and take appropriate action when business levels fall below expectations.
  • Achieve individual and team sales goals as established by the Area Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Maintain accurate records of account activity, contacts, opportunities, and production.
  • Participate in client entertainment and industry networking activities as appropriate.
  • Represent Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco at trade shows, sales missions, community events, and industry functions.
  • Conduct hotel tours and site inspections for prospective clients and meeting planners.
  • Communicate client expectations clearly to operational departments and assist in ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Support pre-arrival planning and client communication for important groups and accounts.
  • Work closely with Front Office, Food & Beverage, Events, and other departments to maximize the guest and client experience.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, revenue meetings, forecasting discussions, and property leadership meetings as requested.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives supporting the overall performance of the hotel.

Qualification Standards:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the Sales Manager may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel, including but not limited to weekends and holidays.

Salary Range: $90K-$100K + Incentive Program
