Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Activities & Marina department, including the marina and new water park operations.

  • Curate and improve a diverse range of recreational activities and programs.

Full Job Description
Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight
  • Lead the combined Activities & Marina department, including the marina, recreational programming, and the new water park.
  • Own the overall performance of marina operations (through the Marina Manager), activities, and water park experiences.
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans, budgets, and forecasts for Activities, Marina, and the water park.
  • Drive revenue growth through slip occupancy, fuel sales, activities packages, charters, special events, water park admissions/packages, and ancillary offerings.

Programming, Guest Experience & Curating Activities
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a diverse calendar of recreational activities, water sports, family programs, special events, and experiential offerings.
  • Program and curate high-quality guest experiences that align with Hawks Cay's luxury island lifestyle and brand standards.
  • Ensure seamless integration of marina, activities, and water park offerings as a cohesive resort amenity.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and feedback; implement improvements that elevate the overall waterfront, activities, and water park experience.

Group Business, Team Building & Preselling
  • Lead and support group recreation and team-building activities for corporate, association, and social groups.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Catering on the preselling of activities, marina services, water park experiences, and customized team-building or recreational packages.
  • Develop and deliver group-focused recreation and team-building programs that enhance the overall group experience and drive incremental revenue.

Water Park Operations & Life Safety / Risk Management
  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for the new water park, including the two 40-foot slides and all related attractions and amenities.
  • Establish and enforce comprehensive life safety and risk management protocols for the water park, marina, and all recreational activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and resort policies related to aquatic operations, slide operations, guest supervision, and emergency response.
  • Oversee staff training, certification, and ongoing competency in life safety, emergency procedures, and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with Engineering, Security, and resort leadership on maintenance, inspections, and continuous improvement of safety systems and procedures.

Marina Leadership
  • Provide high-level direction and accountability for marina operations, safety, compliance, and guest service standards through the Marina Manager.
  • Oversee capital planning, major maintenance projects, and long-term marina asset management in partnership with Engineering and resort leadership.
  • Ensure the marina operates as a profit center while maintaining the highest safety and environmental standards.

Team Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the Marina Manager and Activities/Water Park leadership team; build a high-performing, service-oriented culture.
  • Collaborate closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Sales, Catering, and Engineering to deliver a coordinated guest and group experience.
  • Represent the department in resort leadership meetings and contribute to broader operational and guest satisfaction initiatives.

Compliance, Safety & Administration
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable maritime, aquatic, safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
  • Oversee training programs related to safety, guest service, and operational excellence across all areas of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in marina operations, resort recreation/activities, aquatic facilities, or a combination of these, with at least 2-3 years in a director or senior management capacity preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing P&L, budgets, and revenue-generating amenities in a luxury resort or hospitality environment.
  • Experience with group recreation, team-building programs, and preselling activities or packages strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in programming and curating guest experiences, with proven ability to elevate guest satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of life safety and risk management best practices for aquatic facilities and water parks (including high slides) preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and guest relations skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational accountability in a fast-paced resort setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Recreation Management, Marine Studies, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Relevant certifications (USCG license, CPR/First Aid, Certified Marina Manager, aquatic facility operator, or similar) strongly preferred.
