THE TEAM Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Assistant Director of Rooms is a key member of the hotel leadership team and plays an integral role in shaping the guest journey across all Rooms Division operations. This role partners closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, Guest Experience, Engineering, Security, Sales & Marketing, and other operational departments to deliver seamless, personalized luxury experiences. The position provides leadership and support to departmental leaders, including Housekeeping, Guest Experience, Front Office, Guest Services, and Concierge teams. YOUR ROLE As Assistant Director of Rooms, you will support the Hotel Manager in leading and optimizing all aspects of the Rooms Division. You will help drive operational excellence, financial performance, guest satisfaction, and associate engagement while ensuring every guest interaction reflects Rosewood's commitment to exceptional service. This role serves as a key operational leader, fostering collaboration across departments and maintaining the highest standards of luxury hospitality throughout the property. HOW YOU'LL MAKE THE PLACE * Lead the day-to-day operations of all Rooms Division departments, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and adherence to Rosewood standards. * Partner with departmental leaders to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and achievement of business objectives. * Champion a culture of luxury service, personally supporting VIP arrivals, special guests, and service recovery opportunities. * Monitor guest satisfaction, operational performance, and service trends to identify opportunities for enhancement and innovation. * Support departmental budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, and expense management to achieve financial goals while maintaining service excellence. * Oversee room inventory, arrivals and departures, guest services operations, reservations, concierge services, transportation, and related guest-facing functions. * Develop, coach, and mentor leaders and associates while creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and professional growth. * Serve as Manager-on-Duty as assigned, providing operational leadership during evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. COULD THIS BE YOU? * You bring strong expertise across luxury Rooms Division operations, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, Guest Services, Reservations, and related functions. * You have a proven ability to lead multiple operational teams while inspiring high levels of performance and engagement. * You possess strong financial acumen with experience supporting budgets, forecasting, labor planning, and operational controls. * You are an exceptional communicator who builds collaborative relationships across departments and organizational levels. * You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and remain calm, decisive, and guest-focused in fast-paced environments. * You have experience developing talent through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning. * You are comfortable using hospitality technology platforms such as Opera PMS, HotSOS, Unifocus, and Microsoft Office applications. * You have a deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
