Full Job Description
Responsibilities

The Manager of the Medical Surgical Department has the primary responsibility for overseeing daily patient care operations for this department. Required to frequently apply a set of management principles to the smooth operations of the department. Must be capable of independent judgement and decision making in the areas of budget, personnel, patient services, physician relations and administrative or professional programs. Has twenty-four (24) hour accountability for assigned area.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:1. B.S. degree in Nursing or related healthcare field and a minimum of three (3) years nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in a leadership or managerial capacity; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2. Good written and oral communication skills. PREFERRED:1. Master's degree in Nursing. 2. Two (2) years clinical experience in specialty area. 3. Prefer at least (5) years experience.
