Overview / Summary:We are seeking a Senior Revit Piping Designer to support the design and development of complex piping systems for industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities. This senior-level role will independently develop piping designs, lead portions of project scope, and coordinate closely with engineers and multidisciplinary design teams. The ideal candidate will bring extensive industrial piping design experience along with a minimum of 3 years of strong Revit piping design and modeling experience.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain detailed 3D piping designs and models using Revit.
- Independently manage assigned piping design scope with general engineering oversight.
- Develop piping layouts based on P&IDs, equipment arrangements, vendor drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate piping designs with process, mechanical, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical input regarding piping layouts, constructability, accessibility, and operability.
- Ensure piping models and drawings comply with project specifications, design standards, and quality requirements.
- Support model reviews, QA/QC activities, and overall model health and consistency.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts and interdisciplinary coordination issues.
- Lead portions of piping design scope and provide technical guidance to other designers as needed.
- Support workshare execution and coordination with project teams across multiple locations.
- Provide design input for project estimating, scope development, and change-management discussions.
- Maintain accurate models, drawings, and project deliverables while meeting schedule and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications: - Associate degree in Design Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of piping design experience within industrial environments such as oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Revit experience specifically supporting piping design and modeling.
- Strong understanding of piping specifications, materials, equipment interfaces, and piping layout fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, vendor drawings, equipment documentation, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to independently manage assigned design tasks with general oversight.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to model and drawing accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or a related discipline.
- Previous piping design experience within semiconductor facilities.
- Working knowledge of pipe stress considerations and their impact on piping routing and support design.
- Experience with QA/QC workflows, model health reviews, and specification-driven design.
- Advanced Revit capabilities, including family/part development and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience leading or providing technical oversight to piping design teams.
- Experience maintaining model consistency and overseeing the quality of piping design deliverables.
