Job Summary
Retail Business / Technology Consultant responsible for translating retail business processes, requirements, and data needs into clearly defined business rules, configurations, KPIs, functional requirements, and actionable user stories. The role requires strong retail domain expertise and close collaboration with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to ensure business requirements are accurately understood, documented, validated, and translated into scalable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Work directly with business users to capture, define, and document business rules, mapping documents, configurations, validation rules, exception-handling logic, workflow configurations, process documentation, and user guides.
• Understand retail business processes and translate them into configurable parameters, business rules, and data models.
• Define and document KPIs and business metrics to measure retail performance and business outcomes.
• Validate business rules, data requirements, and outputs to ensure data quality, consistency, and business accuracy.
• Conduct stakeholder workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements-gathering sessions with business users.
• Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
• Ensure clear transition of business understanding and requirements to engineering teams and solution architects.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to validate technical solutions against business requirements.
• Support analysis of retail data sources and data models to ensure business requirements are accurately represented.
• Document functional requirements, business processes, rules, workflows, and data requirements.
Required Qualifications
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in Retail Business / Technology Consulting.
• Strong understanding of retail business processes and technology.
• Strong experience with business requirements and functional analysis.
• Experience defining and documenting business rules and validation requirements.
• Strong understanding of retail data and data models.
• Experience defining KPIs and business metrics.
• Strong stakeholder management and requirements workshop facilitation skills.
• Experience developing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical requirements for architects and engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of retail data sources and business processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.
