About the Role

The Retail Business Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting and enhancing retail business systems through system integration testing (SIT), execution of small to medium-sized projects, and day-to-day operational support. This role acts as a key liaison between store operations, IT teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure system stability, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of retail technology solutions.

What You'll Do

System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute System Integration Testing (SIT) for retail systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain test cases, scripts, and scenarios aligned with business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Validate system functionality, integrations, and end-to-end processes prior to production deployment.


Project Execution
  • Lead or contribute to small to mid-sized retail systems projects and enhancements.
  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Provide post-implementation support and ensure smooth system adoption.


Operational Support & Issue Resolution
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for store associates and business users.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, escalating when appropriate.
  • Manage and prioritize support tickets in accordance with SLAs.
  • Deliver clear communication to users on issue status and resolution timelines.


Store & Field Support
  • Partner directly with store associates to understand operational pain points.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support on system usage and best practices.
  • Ensure store systems are functioning effectively to support daily operations.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with various IT departments, retail operations, and vendor teams.
  • Coordinate system updates, releases, and testing efforts across departments.
  • Serve as a liaison translating business needs into technical requirements.


Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, processes, and user experience.
  • Recommend enhancements and support implementation of solutions.
  • Maintain documentation including workflows, procedures, and system configurations.


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Greater than 5 years of experience in retail systems, business systems analysis, or IT support.
  • Experience with System Integration Testing (SIT) and defect management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with ticketing/support systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Nice to Have
  • Experience in retail environments (POS systems, inventory, store operations).
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, or middleware is a plus.
