This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

We are looking for a hardware Responsible Engineer (RE) to support the development of the Thermodynamic Vent System (TVS) on the MK2 Crew Lander in support of NASA's Artemis & HLS programs. The TVS is responsible for thermal management of the Main Propulsion System (MPS) cryogenic propellants (LH2 & LOX). This position will initially be focused on the design and layout of the TVS (in CAD) with model-based engineering release. As the design matures and engineering is released, the role will evolve as required as this RE follows the TVS through build, test, integration and on console operation.

You will work with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) program. You will play a key role in developing the MK2 Crewed Lunar Lander that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

  • Experience with engineering drawing release
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a team of engineers across multiple states
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly interface with external parties including government and commercial entities
  • Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise designing and routing fluids tubing
  • Experience using the tubing tool in CREO
  • Windchill experience
  • Model-based engineering release
  • Experience with small diameter tube routing/design
  • Experience or familiarity with performing structural analysis or fluid analysis of propulsion systems
  • Experience with hardware procurement
  • Experience with upper stages and spacecraft
  • Experience with subsystem/system testing, preferably propulsion/cryo
  • Experience with cryogenic propellants
  • Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion or fluid system
