Research Scientist - Skin Biologist (Personal Care)You will be responsible for designing, executing, and interpreting skin biology research to support the development and commercialization of advanced personal care ingredients and formulations. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of innovation-designing and leading impactful skin biology studies that bring next-generation ingredients and formulations to life. Your work will directly influence product development, scientific breakthroughs, and how we deliver high-performance solutions to customers around the world.
What You'll Be Doing:Be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.
- Develop and implement skin biology testing strategies aligned with business and innovation priorities
- Design and conduct in vitro and ex vivo studies using advanced models (e.g., 3D skin, explants, co-culture systems)
- Generate high-quality data to support product claims, technical dossiers, and launches
- Execute and interpret skin delivery and bioavailability studies, including Franz diffusion systems
- Support in vivo testing (hydration, TEWL, elasticity, pigmentation)
- Translate complex biological data into clear, compelling scientific insights for internal teams and customers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with formulation, analytical, and commercial teams
- Develop and optimize novel testing methods and technologies for skin analysis
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, presentations, and maintain compliant documentation

Required Qualifications:- Ph.D. in Skin Biology, Dermatology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related field (or Master's with 3-5+ years' industry experience)
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and advanced skin models
- Experience with in vitro assays, skin explants, or histological techniques
- Familiarity with skin delivery systems and biophysical measurements (TEWL, hydration, elasticity)
- Strong experimental design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate science into business insights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience in personal care, cosmetics, or dermatology
- Experience with claim substantiation and regulatory frameworks
- Knowledge of diverse skin types and consumer needs
- Experience supporting customer engagements or commercial teams

Additional Information:This is a full-time position based at our Princeton, NJ site.
Annual Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $110,000.
This range reflects the base salary the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, education, and skill level. Additional compensation, such as annual bonuses or other incentives, may be offered based on eligibility and company policies.
