The Research and Development lab at SCTx is recruiting a Research Scientist IV to help lead our new allogeneic immunotherapy program. Ideal candidates bring significant laboratory experience and a passion for impactful research. This role will require close collaboration with internal team members and external partners to advance innovative technologies and therapeutic approaches. Seattle Children's Therapeutics (SCTx) at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is an exciting venture aimed at leveraging a biotech industry business model in a non-profit context to bring cutting edge curative cell, gene, and protein therapies to defeat pediatric cancer and beyond. We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic, and highly motivated biologist to join our Research and Development group. The work within the R&D lab is highly collaborative, fast-paced, and incredibly exciting. The primary purpose of this position is to help lead the development of our allogeneic cell therapy program, including the development of CAR-T, CAR-NK, and booster molecules to create more efficacious cell therapies for pediatric diseases. Under the direction of the Research Director, the successful candidate will use her/his established skills to create and assess the therapeutic potential of these products, in collaboration with other team members and external groups. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing projects from the ground up, especially in a translational setting, and will have significant experience mentoring junior scientists. This position requires creativity, a positive mindset, a team-oriented and collaborative approach, the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The candidate will be required to participate and present data in weekly lab meetings, maintain an up-to-date and well-organized electronic laboratory notebook, and rigorously follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) guidelines. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in grant and manuscript writing. Responsible to plan, design and execute research development activities in support of funded research projects. Perform experimental procedures and make detailed observations; analyze and interpret data. Works closely with principal investigator on the development of technical proposals, presentations manuscripts and grants. Plans and conducts work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Uses a wide application of complex principles, theories and concepts in specific scientific discipline.

Required Education and Experience
PhD or M.D. in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or other closely related field.
Minimum of four (4) years experience in required field of specialization.
Prior experience with laboratory management or other relevant research field.

Required Credentials

Preferred
Prior teaching experience.
Experience with all routine cellular and molecular experimental procedures.
Experience with molecular biology techniques (Northern, Western, Southern, PCR and InSitu Hybridization techniques).
Experience with statistics and relevant computer programs.
Experience writing and editing manuscripts.

Compensation Range
$110,122.00 - $165,182.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
