Posting Summary

A Research Associate position is currently available in the laboratory of Prof. Eric Lam at the Department of Plant Biology, Rutgers University, New Brunswick. The main responsibility for this post is to support an NSF funded Trilateral Project with partner laboratories in the UK (Nottingham) and Germany (Gatersleben). The project aims to reveal the role of the microbiome in providing resilience to multi-stress environments through a combination of large-scale phenotyping screens followed by transcriptomics, phenomics and metabolomics studies with constructed holobionts. The Research Associate will work closely with the international team of specialists to coordinate the large-scale G X E screen, and to carry out focused studies on the transcriptomics of selected microbe combinations with corresponding Lemna strains. These data will be integrated with results from metabolomics and phenomic datasets to generate a set of target plant genes that may mediate improvement in plant stress resilience.

Applicants to this post should have a minimum of two years in postdoc experience, with expertise in plant molecular genetics and transcriptomics analyses. Experience in duckweed research would be highly desirable. The position is available for one year, with potential of renewal pending performance and availability of resources.
