Introduction

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer - Fixed Equipment to join the Golden Triangle Polymers facility in Orange, TX that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.

The role will be focused on ensuring the equipment is properly commissioned, and ready to support a safe, orderly, and timely start-up of the facility. Following startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional reliability role by focusing on supporting inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Implements corporate Mechanical Integrity program at the site.
  • Collects and analyzes reliability metrics to identify bad actors.
  • Participates in the development, design and installation of predictive maintenance programs and technology applications to identify and eliminate defects.
  • Coordinates with site stakeholders to establish and maintain the proper stocking levels of parts and equipment required to provide maximum equipment uptime at the lowest possible costs.
  • Executes the identification and elimination of bad actors and the optimization of equipment availability.
  • Monitors field inoperable equipment logs for remediation needs.
  • Assesses and adjusts specific equipment tolerances and specifications.
  • Participates in equipment failure investigations and cause analysis and implement action items to prevent recurrence using Cause Analysis tools.
  • Plans and coordinates projects from inception to completion ensuring efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget.
  • Contributes on larger capital projects (CAPEX).
  • Contributes to site efforts to implement Process Safety Management elements at the site.
  • Special assignments


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5-years of maintenance engineering experience in a refinery or chemical plant, OR High School Diploma/GED with10+ years of maintenance related experience in a refinery or chemical plant.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical craft.
  • Familiarity with fitness for service calculations and the API-579 fitness for service code.
  • Familiarity with API inspection codes, API-510, API-570, API-653, API-580, and API-571.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Meridium APM.
