Nephrology, 9 East Unit in the Acute Inpatient Medicine Program
Employment Status: Full-TimeReporting Relationship: Manager, 9 E&W Nephrology & Medicine
Hourly Rate: $38.893 - $39.458
Union Group: NOWU
Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 8 or 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends
Location: Humber River Health - Wilson Site
Position Responsibilities: - RN responsibilities for Nephrology focused patients
- Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
- Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
- Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
- Preceptorship of nursing students.
Qualifications:- Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
- Current RPN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS certification.
- One year recent medical experience with focus on nephrology.
- Experience with Peritoneal dialysis, Continuous Ambulatory peritoneal dialysis and continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis preferred.
- Completion of Nephrology 1 and 2 required or current enrollment preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities.
- Experience with patient health teaching.
- Demonstrate adherence to the hospital's code of conduct.
- Demonstrate competency in a variety of skills including (but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy initiation and discontinuation, Blood Transfusion, Wound Care Dressing, Medication Administration, etc.
- Basic computer skills and Meditech experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
