Qualifications

• 1-2 years of acute care or stem cell experience
• Graduate from NLNAC or CCNE accredited nursing school and holds a valid IL nursing license
• OCN Certification required within 18 months or 36 CE in Oncology every 3 years
• BLS certification must be current
• ACLS certification required upon hire or by the end of orientation
• Critical Care experience or telemetry competency within 6 months of hire
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certified within 6-12 months of hire
• Completion of the ONS BMT course within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care for hematology/oncology, stem cell transplant, and ambulatory care patients
• Assist with special procedures as needed
• Direct care delivered by patient care technicians and other healthcare team members
• Demonstrate knowledge of procedures, treatments, and equipment
• Care for complex medical patients, including those who are hemodynamically compromised or mechanically ventilated
• Initiate and maintain complex IV therapy, including administering thrombolytics and vasoactive medications
• Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response calls as necessary
