The NICU is recognized as a Level IV NICU - the highest level of care for neonates. We are a designated March of Dimes NICU Family Support® program and have a Neuro NICU for babies with neurologic conditions.
NICU Level IV:- 49 beds
- Provides developmentally appropriate care to infants born 22 weeks and above
- 1-2 patients per RN depending on stability of the baby
- Neonatal Nurse Practitioners on Staff 24/7
This position will be working 60 hours every two weeks on the night shift, 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.
Provides care to patients with complex NICU needs.
- Performs advanced monitoring using current technology
- High Frequency ventilation
- Cares for surgical patients with congenital anomalies, intubated patients and patients with tracheostomies
- Total Body Cooling (TBC), Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)
- Central arterial lines/monitoring and other venous lines
Required:- 1 year of RN experience OR at least 6 months of current employment at UMMCH as a NICU RN
- MN RN License
- BLS
Preferred- BSN or BAN
- Certification in related specialty.
Additional Requirements:- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire
