Full Job Description
Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

The Sales Director is responsible for hiring, training, developing and leading a regional sales team (approx. 7-8 reps) in order to meet or exceed sales goals for AEL. This leader will be responsible for the daily oversight of the region's business, customer relationships, both internal and external, and will be tasked with maximizing profitability.

In this role, you will:
  • Model Servant Leadership where People, Culture and Performance are keys to success.
  • Spend 60% of time in the field coaching, mentoring, and developing the team to drive performance and ensure alignment with regional and company strategies.
  • Select, train and manage activities of territory sales representatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.
  • Complete performance evaluations and as needed, conduct disciplinary action up to and termination.
  • Work with Director, Sales Training for new hires and to keep selling skills sharp. Accountable for the region's overall performance, ensure the representatives are meeting or exceeding sales goals set by management.
  • Oversee efforts of representatives and as needed sell business that is profitable for AEL.
  • Follow all compliance standards and complete all compliance training.
  • Ensure representatives maintain compliance with company and department policies and procedures and provide training as needed.
  • Ensure representatives maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, client and/or company records and issues and provide training as needed.
  • Provide a motivating work environment and accurate feedback to staff on performance.

All you need is:
  • Required - Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience in laboratory sciences
  • Preferred - Master's degree
  • Minimum - 5 years relevant experience in a sales position or marketing, preferably in a medical reference laboratory environment.
  • At least 2 year of team coaching, leadership experience within healthcare systems and/or clinical laboratories
  • Experience with building and developing teams
  • Experience with CRM Operations (HC1)
  • Outstanding coaching skills
  • Ability to measure performance
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation skills, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior-level executives and key decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
