Team Overview

The Regional Sales Director, Commercial is a critical team member that is part of our Commercial South West Area Sales team. This position is remote based and will be responsible for leading a team and customers within our Mid-South Gulf Coast region, specifically in the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, & Tennessee.

Summary

The Regional Sales Director is primarily responsible for the overall sales and technical management of the assigned sales region. The position is expected to give the fullest effort consistently and to promote the Company and its products aggressively and tenaciously at all times and to achieve the sales and expense objectives assigned. The Regional Sales Director must keep informed on current affairs of the industry as they affect prospects and performance and must have a substantial working knowledge of the product line, specifications and pricing of competitors. The Regional Sales Director must be able to work independently, accept, and provide guidance and direction, communicate company policies and objectives and ensure compliance by all regional sales personnel. This is a line position reporting to the Area Vice President and generally requires the establishment of, and operation from, an in-home office.

Essential Duties
  • Leadership and development of the Regional Field Sales team, including:
    • Recruiting, mentoring, and assessing a high-caliber team to maintain optimal performance standards across the region.
    • Facilitating the full talent acquisition process-from interviewing and structuring competitive offers to onboarding-in strict adherence to corporate policies and all applicable legal regulations.
    • Driving professional excellence through consistent coaching, including routine verbal guidance, formal annual reviews, and active recognition of achievements, while managing necessary disciplinary measures alongside HR partners.
    • Overseeing staff attendance and leave requests to preserve continuous regional coverage and policy alignment.
    • Pinpointing and addressing individual training requirements to foster continuous skill enhancement.
    • Promoting a culture of self-directed growth that supports long-term career progression for team members and elevates the entire sales organization.


  • Organization of the Region
    • Assess and provide rationales for the recruitment of sales staff, determining their optimal geographic placement and assigning specific district or territory accountabilities.
    • Identify and justify the utilization of independent sales representatives within the region, clearly outlining their protected accounts and territories for sales credit; manage the negotiation or dissolution of these partnerships in coordination with senior corporate leadership.
    • Hold ultimate authority over the appointment of GAF-approved roofing contractors in the region and collaborate with senior management regarding any contractor terminations.
    • Evaluate the necessity for company inventories or distributor partnerships and establish them following approval from corporate senior management.


  • Regional Management Responsibilities
    • Ensure all roofing contractors receive comprehensive training on Commercial application methods and specifications to encourage the use of Commercial products.
    • Address and resolve all customer complaints with urgency and thoroughness.
    • Maintain effective and professional communication across all channels-including reports, presentations, and direct dialogue-with colleagues and industry partners.
    • Analyze market dynamics and provide strategic executive summaries to the senior leadership team.
    • Adhere to all corporate and regulatory safety standards and foster a culture of safety among direct reports.
    • Execute additional tasks as directed by the Area Vice President (AVP).

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel overnight 50%

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Annual Compensation Range: $200,000 to $300,000. The Annual Compensation Range listed includes both base salary and an estimated annualized flat commission amount based on recent territory performance.
