Full Job Description
VSC Fire and Security, Inc., a leading fire protection and life safety system contractor, is seeking an experienced Regional Safety Manager to join our team. This position will be based in Dallas, Texas.

What you need:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction safety field.
  • OSHA 510 or 511 certified (or more) required. Trainer status (OSHA 500) for OSHA 10 and 30 a plus.
  • Ability to travel to offices and job sites on the local market, surrounding states, and other markets as needed up to 70% travel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and work with minimal supervision.

  • Reliable transportation, valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for potential use of company vehicle.

What you will do:
  • Create and update division safety plans to address incident count and cause of loss, OSHA activity, division hiring needs and employee experience level, and changing project requirements.
  • Conduct visits to each division and meet with leadership to assess safety needs, review loss history and provide training.
  • Conduct safety audits with office safety advocate to verify advocates' audit abilities and act as resource to develop advocate's ability to positively affect safety.
  • At conclusion of safety audits, develop robust action plan for improvement opportunities. Ensure plan is implemented and measured to determine success.
  • In partnership with divisional leadership, investigate cause of loss, establish corrective action plan, implement plan and, measure outcome.
  • Create Divisional KPI's based on data affecting safety outcomes (both frequency & severity). KPI's focus on reducing job site injuries and strengthening safety culture.
  • Conduct timely discussions with Regional and Division managers reviewing results of job site incidents, safety audits and training needs.
  • Act as VSC spokesperson for OSHA Citations. Be responsible for investigation, negotiations with OSHA and development and implementation of action plan with Division management input.
  • Conduct training for division staff to include: new hires, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, Heavy Equipment, Confined Space, LOTO, OSHA 10, OSHA 30 and other safety subjects as needed or required.
  • Distribute Safety Alerts to Divisions on needs identified via analysis of incidents, safety audit improvement ops, etc. and ensure communication and understanding by field employees.
  • Works with Claims Manger on all workers' compensation and auto claims including investigations, reporting, compliance, follow up care, and communication with third party administrator.
  • Participate in corporate weekly workers compensation meeting as required by Director of Safety.
  • Individual KPI's include: number of jobsite visits, number of training classes, regional and division incident frequency and severity measures, Procore and LMS system utilization.
  • For each division ensure posting of OSHA Form 300A, assist with JHA development and updates.

This role is designated as safety-sensitive due to responsibilities that could entail the use of motor vehicles, mobile equipment, working at heights, climbing ladders, and utilizing lift equipment.
