The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for a Safety Program Manager to support our Data Center Innovations team in Austin, TX. This position is responsible for managing the McKinstry Safety Program and assigned safety professionals at the business unit level. Manages subject-specific safety programs and associated data to ensure enterprise compliance. Additional responsibilities may include:

Project/Field Safety Support
  • Develop and implement site-specific safety plans.
  • Ensure compliance with McKinstry's safety program and OSHA standards.
  • Support project teams with safety needs and lessons learned.
  • Conduct routine job site reviews and Safety Quality Assurance Reviews as needed.

Safety Program Administration
  • Administer and support continuous improvement of McKinstry's Safety Program.
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and updates for safety programs.

Training and Compliance
  • Verify subcontractor training meets OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct new employee safety orientations and routine safety meetings.
  • Provide safety training as needed based off annual requirements and project specific hazards.

Incident Management
  • Lead or assist with safety incident investigations and reporting.
  • Document corrective actions and communicate lessons learned.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Safety Program Specialist.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations required.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) or equivalent preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required.
  • Three (3) years of experience with emphasis on construction and/or industrial safety preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Safety Management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.

The pay range for this position is $72,090 - $119,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
