Summary

The Regional Operations Manager, in collaboration with and in support of the firm's strategic initiatives, directs and oversees operations of a specified region or regions and manages support staff within the Business Center, Facilities, Hospitality and Reception areas. This role is responsible for facilities, hospitality, conference room management, reception and the Business Center in a specified region or regions.

Location

This position is located in our Chicago office and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities
• Provides overall management and leadership to staff functioning in a variety of areas to include Facilities and Operations.
• Responsible for leading multiple Operations projects, national contracts and/or areas of responsibility on a firmwide basis (e.g., security, MRM, UPS, emergency preparedness, notaries, ergonomics, Business Center, Reception and Hospitality, etc.).
• Represents Operations in Liaison groups within various departments.
• Partners with Office Managing Partner and Office Administrator regarding operations initiatives.
• Collaborates with senior operations team members to establish national standards and lead the initiatives and MICP goals.
• Collaborates with Real Estate department with regard to design, construction, subtenants, etc.
• Responsible for overall maintenance and appearance of the facility/office space.
• Responsible of office space utilization, allocation, occupancy reporting, hoteling, relocations, and planning.
• Oversees and ensures compliance with firm standards regarding supplies, furniture, and equipment.
• Responsible for planning, communicating, and executing high-quality office events.
• Oversees onsite vendor relationships (e.g., Business Center, cafeteria) and establishes a rapport with the primary contact.
• Initiates and is responsible for Operations/Facilities budgets over multiple offices based on analysis evaluation of previous year's expenses and cost savings initiatives (including staff labor, attendance, occupancy, hoteling, cost savings, budgets etc.).
• Collaborates with other departments (e.g., IT, Marketing, HR, Records, Accounting) to ensure consistent service levels in the office.
• Participates in National Operations Meetings.
• Conducts direct report and team meetings, which includes performance evaluations, mentoring and coaching to staff.
• Coordinates trial group logistics.
• Responsible for the Sustainability Program.
• Conducts the National and local Operations portion of the new hire orientation.
• May assist with additional operational tasks from other offices or regions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

Good communication skills required to interact with staff and attorneys on a regular basis. Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently. Must have intermediate Excel and Word skills. Advanced Excel skills a plus. Basic understanding of building infrastructure (HVAC, paint, carpet, furniture) and security issues. Ability to effectively manage a diverse group of employees and functions within an office. Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm preferred.

Minimum Education
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education
• Bachelor's Degree.

Minimum Years of Experience
• 7 years' progressively responsible experience in operations or facilities management.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work Environment

The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $124,167 - $164,525 per year depending on the candidate's geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
