Responsibilities will include a full range of complex commercial real estate transactions from inception through closing, including purchases and sales, reviewing and addressing title and survey matters, various types of real estate financing transactions including refinancings, acquisition loans, bridge loans, construction loans and mezzanine loans, leasing, joint ventures, and real estate-related agreements such as property management agreements, brokerage agreements, and SNDAs.
Previous experience with "dirt" real estate work including purchases and sales of various types of real estate, real estate finance, commercial leasing (office, retail, and ground leasing), and working collaboratively with firm attorneys in other practice areas or outside co-counsel, including with respect to structuring and documenting tax efficient and financeable ownership structures.
Ability to proactively track and advance a transaction from start to finish, including creating and managing closing checklists and due diligence checklists, and preparing for and assisting with closings.
The role will also involve contributing to the team's profile and undertaking business development activities to establish, develop, and maintain long-term relationships; including, writing articles/posts, attending events/conferences and building networks with private wealth contacts/intermediaries including global and peer firms and counsel.
