Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and set exposure factors for procedures.
  • Monitor and report abnormal patient conditions during imaging.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols to reduce patient exposure.
  • Submit high-quality images to PACS with verified patient data.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of department and procedure rooms.
  • Availability to work night shifts, weekends, and through the holidays.

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL

Facility: Ascension Saint Alexiu

Department: Diagnostic Radiology

Schedule: Night shift | Full-time

Salary range: $32.15 - $44.82 per hour

Sign-on bonus: Up to $15,000.00


How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Prepare patients by positioning them, setting exposure factors, administering contrast media, and monitoring their condition and reporting any abnormal activity during procedures.
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize patient exposure.
  • Ensure high-quality image submission to PACS with accurate patient data.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department and procedure rooms.
  • Ability to work 4 - 10 hr overnight shifts (9:00 pm - 7:30 am), every other weekend, holidays, and call.

What minimum requirements you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Limited Radiology Technician credentialed from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted. Temporary ARRT license allowed in lieu of permanent license.


Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
