Job Description:

Broadcom's BSN business unit is seeking a Software QA Test Engineer to test and verify Brocade's SAN-based networked solutions. The ideal candidate is skilled in both manual and automated testing, possesses hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Linux, Windows, and VMware, and is proficient in test automation scripting (specifically Python).

As part of this test team, you will be responsible for the verification of Brocade's Fabric OS, associated hardware switching platforms, management APIs, and automation script development. This role requires a solid understanding of software/hardware engineering principles and system quality assurance for planning, execution, and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Test Planning & Collaboration: Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand technical specifications and design comprehensive test plans (covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing).
  • Defect Tracking: Work closely with development teams to identify, document, and track software defects using tools like JIRA.
  • Status Reporting: Assess test progress and advise area leads and management on the overall test and quality status of assigned areas.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate test progress, results, and recommendations to management, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.


Requirements (Must Have)
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) with a minimum of 8 years of hands-on software testing experience.
  • Testing Methodologies: Strong understanding of functional, negative, boundary, performance, scale, and longevity testing.
  • OS & Virtualization: Proven experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, and VMware.
  • Automation: Proficient in at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for test automation.
  • Networking & Storage: Strong IP networking and troubleshooting skills, protocol knowledge (L2/L3/L4), and foundational SAN/Storage knowledge.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple parallel tasks with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Attendance: Position requires 100% on-site attendance.


Highly Desired Skills
  • SAN Protocols: Deep knowledge of Fibre Channel, FCIP, and FICON.
  • Administration: Experience with Brocade SAN administration.
  • UI Automation: Automation experience using Claude Code and Gemini AI agents.
  • APIs: Strong knowledge of REST API concepts and usage.


Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 91,100.00 To USD 146,000.00
