Quality Engineer IIPosition Summary: The Quality Engineer II ensures the overall quality of manufactured products, tests processes, create documentation, devise quality tests, and defines the criteria a test result should meet. This individual will monitor quality standards and track performance trends to identify areas of needed improvement and works with increased independence as well as in a team environment, consulting with internal team members and consults with other disciplines to resolve issues as they arise.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Verify inspection data with double gaging to ensure component integrity and resolve discrepancies found during part inspection. When required, assist the MRB team in identification of dimensional issues.
- Create and update control plans for correct gauges and order of operation. Update with best methods and how to inspect feature.
- Interpret dimensional tolerances and apply them to components of enhanced complexity. Identify external specification referenced in technical documentation and apply to the inspection process.
- Independently generate documentation required to maintain and support ISO compliance and serve as a contributing member of ISO audit teams.
- Recognize when input from the Compliance team is needed to resolve and clarify compliance related issues.
- Independently identify areas of need for CARs generate and drive to completion CARs and execute to meet business needs.
- Review and disposition non-compliant material of increased issue complexity and accurately and independently assess issue culpability.
- Collect data for runoff and gauge study. Analyze data with statistics and report out finding.
- Work with metrology to maintain gage calibration compliance.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
- May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education/Experience & Skills:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and 3-6 years of quality engineering or equivalent experience.
- Six Sigma Green Belt training is preferred.
- Highly proficient in blueprint reading.
- Enhanced understanding of the ISO process.
- In-depth understanding of ASME Y14.5. Able to fully and independently identify complex datum structures and accurately interpret all feature control frames.
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.
- Expected to have high fluency in primary area(s) of quality ability and committed to developing capability to participate in others.
- Strong time management skills and requires little supervision to identify additional tasking.
- Communicate effectively to supervision verbally and in written format regarding problems and corrective action. Effectively report forward quality issues identified with the whole production team.
- Understand fundamental ATF Compliance issues with the ability to recognize when input from the Compliance team is needed to resolve and clarify compliance related issues.
Working Conditions:- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
