Job Description Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer shall support the business in areas of product development; process improvement; daily production support; project manage key programs; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high quality product.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - Develop and write detailed instructions for the manufacture of products.
- Analyze production data and look for trends indicating potential problems and develop solutions for potential problems.
- Provide process control systems in the form of instructions, standards, data collection and feedback loops.
- Utilize PCC toolbox such as Lean Six Sigma in order to improve factory performance.
- Create tooling and fixtures to support production needs.
Required Skills:- Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and manufacturing instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals in English.
- Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- ERP system knowledge.
- CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge a plus.
- Ability to think spatially and creatively at an advanced level.
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Must have proven experience in performing time studies and setting routing standards.
- Ability to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.
- Proven high level of creative problem solving ability.
- Uses Inspection equipment: Calipers, Micrometers.
Required Experience:- 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Must have the ability to reason and arrive at conclusions with minimum help and have a basic understanding of statistics.
- Advanced math skills including statistical analysis and trigonometry required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CAD software (SolidWorks) required.
- Must be able to demonstrate team work, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
- Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.
- Working knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Certification is a plus.
- CNC programming is a plus
- Understanding of standard machining tooling is a plus (drills, taps, inserts, reamers, etc.)
Level of Education:- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree, preferred.
Relocation Relocation is authorized for this position.
