Position Summary
The Quality Engineer (QE) is a technical leader who collaborates with multiple departments to ensure quality and delivery goals are achieved. The QE applies analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret, implement, and conform to customer requirements
- Develop and approve quality procedures
- Develop and maintain inspection plans and standards
- Oversee calibration systems in accordance with AS9100 standards
- Coordinate new product launches and design changes
- Manage quality inspection and auditing activities
- Analyze customer complaints and returns
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma
- Provide auditing and compliance support
- Support MRB activities and corrective actions
- Evaluate suppliers and materials
- Generate First Article Inspections (FAI)
Required Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years (QE) or 8+ years (Sr QE) experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong customer interaction experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to read drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, Lean methods
- Proficiency with inspection tools and systems
- Strong communication skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Oracle, etc.)
Education and Experience
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred. Experience in Quality Assurance and ISO/AS environments preferred. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification is a plus.
