Full Job Description
The Quality Director is responsible for leading and managing the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of quality systems and processes throughout the Mission Solutions Aviation AirForce Portfolio. The ideal candidate ensures that the company meets the highest-level quality standards and implements proactive practices to drive continual improvement. This position is also responsible for assisting in ensuring that all quality programs are in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and procedures within any specified timeframes. In addition, this position participates and reviews all applicable business development documents in order to ensure compliance after contract award.

Job Summary
  • Develop and implement quality policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure goals are achieved
  • Develop and implement industry-specific quality standards to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Implements and manages the Quality function for program(s) across the Aviation portfolio.
  • Reviews program practices against the Proposals and Performance Work Statements (PWS) to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure programs implementation of required Government Operational Procedures (GOPs) and applicable Internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensures Contract Deliverable Required Lists (CDRLs) are adhered to and delivered on time.
  • Ensure programs implement Risk Registers to establish proactive practices.
  • Ensure the program implements one Corrective Action Program for all nonconformities.
  • Ensure the programs and management implements thorough root cause analysis.
  • Socialize findings across the AF portfolio to mitigate risk on other programs.
  • Assist and mentor the Program(s) Quality Assurance team(s) to drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices
  • Utilize statistical analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in processes
  • Analyze and report on quality metrics, trends, and performance
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure adherence to standards
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and external auditors
  • Develop and implement quality training programs
  • Develop, analyze and/or post Key Performance Indicators to ensure quality, on-time performance and other progress metrics
  • Establishes, defines, implements, maintains, and reports on quality key performance measures and standards
  • Consult with program management in deterring root cause analysis for non-conformances regarding the Quality Plan and/or customer contractual requirements
  • Performs root cause analysis, implements and advises on corrective actions plans and responses, and monitors progress and improvements
  • Drives continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices
  • Ensure performance and quality of assigned Quality function conforms to established standards and governmental agency guidelines to ensure lasting customer satisfaction
  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure inspections, statistical process analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements and meet specifications.
  • Engages with program management in determining best measures of project efficiency
  • Conduct and direct internal management audits, prepare formal audit reports, and define audit schedules
  • Assess contractual requirements, develop and maintain checklists, and communicate within Quality function
  • Works with business development on proposals as a quality SME
  • Monitors and supports any Environmental, Health and Safety practices as applicable.
  • Manages and monitors customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Actively participates in the documentation of contract performance for any Performance Assessment Reviews (PMRs) and Contract Performance Assessment Review documents (CPARs).
  • Perform other qualified duties as assigned


Knowledge & Skills
  • Ability to show progression in supervisory and leadership roles.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently mentor, supervise and manage quality personnel
  • Ability to perform and manage Quality best practices independently.
  • Ability to drive improvement and cultural changes within programs
  • Ability to implement ISO/AS implementation on programs within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to train Green Belts and monitor CPI events across programs.
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels to effectively and efficiently manage the Business Unit Quality program(s)
  • Advanced understanding of Quality approaches, methods, management, and responsibilities.
  • Advanced Knowledge of statistical methods, ISO 9000 standard, Lean Six Sigma, and other quality methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team


Experience & Education
  • Ten (10) or more years of work experience with at least four (4) years in a QA/QC capacity and four (4) years in a management role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Quality Management or related field; may substitute two (2) additional years of experience for each year of college of a four (4) years of college
  • Successful completion of ISO 9000, AS 9100D and AS 9110 Lead Auditor certified Course
  • Successful completion of Advanced Auditor Transition Training (AATT) course for ISO 9000, AS 9100 and AS9110 within the first six months of hire with AS 9120 preferred as well.
  • Ability to obtain Probitas Authentication as an Aerospace Industry Experienced Auditor for AS 9100, 9110 and preferably 9120 Standards within one year
  • Certified as a LSS Master Black Belt or the ability to be certified within six months of hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance


Compensation Details:
140,000.00
