Full Job Description
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Specialist will ensure the Company's products meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance, USDA requirements, and customer expectations.
Your Contribution to Excellence
• Support Company's HACCP, HARPC, FD, Quality, GMP and SQF programs.
• Support Company self-audit program.
• Support Company 3rd party audits and corrective action plans.
• Support annual SQF and Management Reviews.
• Execute daily, full scope, audits and verification of all food safety and quality data control points.
• Compile, organize, store, and retrieve product safety and quality data.
• Coordinate State, Federal, and Internal Hold inventories, full process, through to point of destruction or release.
• Manage all equipment regulatory certifications, calibrations, and subsequent documentation.
• Support existing and identify new SOP requirements. Follow through with support for training and implementation of new SOPs under the direction of QA Management.
• Assist with employee training in food safety and quality initiatives.
• Assist with regulatory inspections.
• Perform other assigned tasks to support food safety and quality initiatives.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to your supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• In the absence of the Quality Assurance Specialist, the QA Supervisor will act and assume duties and responsibilities of this position
What you Bring to the Table:
• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in science (Food Science/Chemistry/Biology/ equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Data management experience and highly detail oriented a must.
• Three to five years' experience in a food processing operation or related industry preferred.
• Working Knowledge of low acid canned foods preferred federal and state regulations.
• Experience with developing/documenting procedures.

This position is an on-site position, performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places. The employee is exposed to both cold and hot temperatures related to normal outside weather conditions, and to wet/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Salary range for this role is 85,000 to 90,000 base salary per year, plus bonus potential.
