Software Engineer in Test (SDET) Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Quality Engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with Software Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders to design and implement robust test automation solutions for complex enterprise applications. You will play a key role in ensuring software quality through automation, continuous testing, and adherence to best engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate business and system requirements into comprehensive test strategies, test scenarios, and test plans.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain automated test frameworks and testing tools.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable automation scripts following Quality Engineering best practices.
  • Apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) concepts to validate software solutions.
  • Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing activities.
  • Build and enhance automation coverage across applications and services.
  • Validate APIs and web services using modern automation tools.
  • Measure, analyze, and report QA metrics to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development teams to identify quality gaps and drive continuous improvements.
  • Recommend enhancements to testing processes, frameworks, standards, and automation platforms.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated testing within deployment processes.
  • Ensure software quality, reliability, performance, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications Professional Experience
  • 6-9 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in Functional Testing, Regression Testing, Integration Testing, and End-to-End Testing.
  • Proven experience in Software Development in Test (SDET) environments.

Technical Skills
  • 4+ years of hands-on programming experience using Object-Oriented languages such as:
    • Java
    • Python
  • 5+ years of hands-on automation scripting experience (framework development preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • BDD frameworks and methodologies
    • CI/CD practices
    • DevOps concepts
  • Expertise in:
    • Java
    • REST API Testing (Rest Assured, Karate, or similar tools)
    • Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
    • SQL / PL-SQL
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of automation architecture and test framework design.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or CRM applications.
  • Exposure to:
    • Docker
    • AWS or Azure Cloud Platforms
    • Mobile Testing

  • Knowledge of non-functional testing, including performance and scalability testing.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration
Minimum Compensation: USD 37,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 132,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
