Job Summary

The University Counseling Center (UCC) at The University of Utah enthusiastically welcomes applications for a Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner (APRN) to become an integral member of our clinical multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management for university students; assisting clinical staff with treatment planning, crisis intervention, and inpatient hospitalization; and providing clinical consultation to Counseling Center and Student Health Center colleagues. A solid knowledge base of relevant community resources is expected.

Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah.

Nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner as required under State Law. Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of specialty area; and demonstrated leadership, teaching, research and communication skills are required.

Utah State prescriptive privileges preferred.

Licensure is obtained by completing a Master's degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master's degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

7. Documentation of all professional activities in clinical notes in a clear and timely fashion.

8. Provide clinical consultation to University Counseling Center and Student Health Center colleagues.
