Job Description

The Property Broker is responsible for day-to-day placement and broking responsibilities for North American accounts, developing business relationships with markets, and negotiating with underwriters regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and existing programs; evaluating quotes, preparation of marketing reports, managing pro-forma analysis information and distribution; assisting regional teams with RFP and new business proposal development. This includes client relationship and strategy at the insurance program level in conjunction with a Producer or Client Advocate, to meet the client's insurance and risk management needs. Because of the Client Executive's strong connection to the client's business and fundamental understanding of its industry, this relationship is a business partnership with client decision makers.

Colleagues in this role will support assigned clients and will in many cases include clients with complex programs.

Client facing responsibilities are an expectation of the position.

Colleague will coordinate with Producers and Client Advocates on Client Property Service Strategy for assigned clients.

Colleague may serve as a mentor and may also be a Subject Matter Expert.

This role is hybrid and travel to client locations will be required.

The Role
  • Manage broking responsibilities for a book of new and recurring Property exposures
  • Lead broking communication efforts for assigned accounts, including but not limited to obtaining exposure information, preparation of specs and dissemination of submissions, and evaluation of quotes
  • Drive the renewal process to establish and implement the client-specific renewal strategy, collaborating with WTW resource, practice and industry groups as needed
  • Build and develop market relationships
  • Remain abreast of marketplace changes
  • Retain existing book of business, while developing and strengthening client relationships
  • Increase/maximize the profitability of the client account and drive retention of that business
  • In collaboration with producers, expand existing client relationships and participate in new business prospecting
  • Assist with or lead front-end RFP efforts
  • Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to clients; monitoring insurance and risk management needs in collaboration with WTW resource, practice and industry groups; recommend appropriate solutions throughout the policy term (including acquisition due diligence)
  • Identify, engage, and integrate delivery of WTW internal resources to deliver on the client experience
  • Prepare/oversee creation of proposals, client advocacy reports, client service plans and schedules
  • Ensure policy requirements (legal, regulatory and compliance) are me
  • Follow WTW excellence and compliance principles, driving positive outcomes


Qualifications

The Requirements
  • 2 - 4 years of Property insurance knowledge/experience in a client-facing role or demonstrated capabilities relative to role responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in core insurance principles; fluency in Property coverage
  • Ability to apply knowledge of coverage forms in the analysis of program design, the identification of coverage gaps, and ongoing coverage consultation
  • Large account experience
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and present models
  • Negotiation skills - ability to drive conflict resolution and secure concessions without damaging relationships
  • Relationship Management skills: ability to leverage internal and external relationships; ability to drive conflict resolution
  • Attention to detail and process orientation
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, high adaptability
  • Verbal and written communication skills; group presentation skills, ability to drive complex/technical conversations
  • Project management skills: end-to-end oversight of large, complex, ambiguous, or multi-dimensional projects

  • Exposure to Excel formulas and spreadsheet creation/manipulation
  • Insurance broker's P&C license required
  • Insurance industry designations preferred but not required (CPCU, ARM, CIC, CRIS, CRM)

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $90,000-$120,000 USD per year.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
