Overview:

Help Shape the Future of Energy Infrastructure at Pembina!

Pembina is looking for a strategic, enterprise-minded leader to join our Calgary office as Director, Project Regulatory, Land & Damage Prevention. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of project development, regulatory strategy, land access, stakeholder engagement, and operational risk management.

Reporting to the Vice President, External Affairs, the Director will lead an integrated team responsible for advancing regulatory, land, and damage prevention strategies that enable the safe, compliant, and timely delivery of major projects and support Pembina's operations across the organization. This role combines people leadership, enterprise influence, and external credibility-and offers the opportunity to help shape how Pembina delivers infrastructure in an increasingly complex regulatory and stakeholder environment.

For the right candidate, this is more than a functional leadership role. It is an opportunity to influence key business outcomes, strengthen organizational capability, and help position Pembina for long-term growth through disciplined execution, trusted relationships, and forward-looking strategy.

What You Bring:

Experience and Expertise

You bring a combination of strategic leadership depth, functional credibility, and the ability to influence outcomes in complex project and regulatory environments. Ideally, you will have:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in energy, regulatory, land, DPPA, environmental, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and building organizational capability through coaching, development, and succession planning.
  • Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate with clarity and influence across senior leaders and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and agencies across Canada and the United States, with the ability to translate complexity into practical strategy and action.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and balancing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to build trusted relationships with regulators, landowners, partners, and executive leadership.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, including experience with automation, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risk and guide informed decisions.
