Overview:

Lead the Regulatory/Environmental Efforts that Enable Pembina's Project Delivery!

Pembina is seeking a strategic, enterprise-minded leader to serve as Manager, Project Planning & Compliance. This role will lead the planning, environmental, regulatory, and compliance activities that support the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of integrity and capital projects-from early planning through construction and reclamation.

This is a critical leadership role for a candidate who can bring together regulatory expertise, project delivery discipline, and strong people leadership to help the business execute with greater predictability, alignment, and speed. The Director will set direction for a multidisciplinary team, guide complex cross-functional coordination, and ensure environmental and regulatory requirements are integrated into project planning and execution from the outset.

For the right candidate, this is more than a functional leadership role. It is an opportunity to shape how Pembina manages project regulatory planning and compliance across a complex portfolio, strengthen internal capability, and influence key business outcomes through sound judgment, disciplined execution, and trusted relationships.

What You Bring:

Experience and Expertise

You bring a combination of strategic leadership depth, regulatory and environmental credibility, and the ability to lead through complexity in project-driven environments. Ideally, you will have:

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, along with the ability to apply business and regulatory insight to complex project environments;
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in energy, regulatory, environmental, or project compliance functions, with a demonstrated ability to influence outcomes in dynamic, multi-stakeholder settings;
  • Proven people leadership capability, including building, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams and driving accountability and results through others;
  • Strong leadership presence and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively across functions and levels;
  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and approval processes across Canada and the United States, and the ability to translate requirements into actionable strategy and guidance;
  • Experience supporting capital project development and execution, including integrating environmental and regulatory considerations into planning, risk management, and delivery;
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust, navigate complexity, and represent the organization effectively internally and externally;
  • A strategic and analytical mindset, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate risk, assess options, and drive practical solutions; and
  • Demonstrated alignment with Pembina's values-Safety, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative, and Entrepreneurial-and a leadership style that reinforces a strong, values-based culture.
