Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Medicine is seeking a Project Policy Analyst to lead strategic program and operational initiatives that support the department's research and administrative mission. This role is responsible for planning, developing, and executing complex projects while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

In this role, you will oversee program planning and implementation, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, develop strategic plans, manage communications, supervise and train staff, oversee budgets and financial activities, support grant development, and ensure timely delivery of program objectives. Working both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, the Project Policy Analyst will thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with UCLA, state, and federal policies and regulations.

This position is ideal for a collaborative leader with strong project management, operational, and strategic planning experience who enjoys driving process improvements and advancing high-impact initiatives

Annual range: $90,720.00-$194,040.00

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 5-7 years of experience or/and equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams, provide training, and supervise staff 1+ years' experience of supervising laboratory personnel and operations.
  • 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional writing skills to produce wide range of documents and deliverables.
  • Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives.
  • Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals.
  • Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project.
  • Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate medical, policy and administrative information in English.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or 3-5 years of experience.
