Full Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Ensure all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met
• Initial studies of the feasibility of the ship projects according to the shipyard technical possibilities
• Creates preliminary Building Methods' description (define optimal utilization of shipyard facilities for each ship project/potential ship project)
• Once contract is present, go through the ship technical concept
• Create building method for the vessel; define the production building method utilizing the existing/coming production facilities in the most cost-efficient way
• Create the Building Method Description of the vessel to be used as a guideline for the planning, design, and production work
  • Make initiatives for further production investments at the yard
  • Follow up the building method fulfillment and feedback from the departments
  • Coordination with shipyard's design and production departments and production planners
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• BS (Emphasis Engineering) preferred
  • At least 5 years' experience in Shipbuilding or other manufacturing industry preferred
  • Knowledge/experience of project-based engineering processes
  • Knowledge/experience of modern shipbuilding process and terminology
  • Knowledge/experience of productive work methods, capability to make productivity/efficiency comparisons
  • Software skills (MS Office, Planning Systems, CAD)


WORK ENVIORNMENT:

Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

This is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules. This is an in-person position.
